STEEL (IoT platform)

In today’s increasingly competitive market, automation has become a key strategic objective for modern companies. This can only be achieved with new technologies supported by custom and advanced systems.

The Falcon Technology has developed an IoT platform STEEL for machine automation in metal industry plant.

How STEEL works

Plant automation is automatic execution of work orders via our STEEL system. The work order is received from the ERP system, which sends the work order to one of the branches that the company has. When the work order comes to the STEEL system, the plant manager sends it to the machine, where the hardware device automatically pulls the work order and constructs it on the machine. The machine and hardware device communicate and after a certain default series, a customizable label is printed. Every step in the process is monitored in real time.

Plant automation consists of:

  • ERP system
  • IoT platform
  • Hardware device
  • Label printer
  • The machine

One company can have one or more plants. In every plant we can find specific machines. No matter what the purpose of every machine is, we can make it talk with the ERP system.

The ERP part prepares the work order and sends it to the IoT STEEL platform. Also, the ERP system can check the order and the status of the processing at any time. Also, if an error has occurred it can cancel the order.

The main improvements that STEEL offers

The STEEL platform has been designed to be an easy-to-use software tool to help industries improve their processes, increase productivity, reduce errors and consumption of iron. The main focuses are real time reporting of work orders and plant automation.

Vision and goals

The vision is to provide valid and accurate information on the operation of the entire plant, to increase productivity and enable greater efficiency of the entire plant.

The main goal of this system is to enable the following:

  • Effective planning
  • Maximum reliability
  • Real time tracking and reporting
  • Increased productivity
  • Expense reduction
  • Iron consumption reduction
  • Inventory control
  • Process optimization
  • Staff productivity tracking
  • Machine productivity tracking
  • Shipping logistics

Highlights of the STEEL platform:

  • Complete automation
  • Real time tracking and reporting
  • Increased productivity
